What about our property values? They will definitely go down! They are spending $130,000
on this project. It is our understanding that Ascot Park is replacing Kincaid Park as a
lighted facility. If they need to spend the money, why don't they spend it at Kincaid Park
which already has lights and where there are fewer adjacent properties.
Some of the concerns of our neighbors are listed below:
Lights on until about 11 PM and occasionally as late as 1 AM when
tournaments are played. Lights shining into our yards and through the
windows invade our privacy. We enjoy the peace and quiet in the evenings.
Noise from spectators and players throughout the evening.
Cars occupying all the available spaces in front of our homes...coming & going at all
hours.
Strangers loitering in our nice residential neighborhood where crime is at a minimum.
Littering
Diminished property values
The overwhelming consensus among the neighborhood is that we need to stop this project!
We are asking for your help. We feel we were denied our rights to a democratic process
as tax paying citizens of Eugene. We would like this item placed on the agenda for your
next city council meeting.
Sincerely,
CITIZENS AGAINST LIGHTS IN ASCOT PARK
John Byrne, President
Patti Luse, Secretary
Ken Luse, Treasurer
c/o 979 Ascot Drive, Eugene, OR 97401
503- 485 -1077
