Some changes
may be desirable but will have to be addressed soon before the contractor
installs his wiring.
Does the system have the ability to Tight just one field only?
Yes, the system at Ascot is separated into three sections, each ballfield
separatly and the soccer fields as one unit. Three swithces will be provided
and labeled as such. Past experience seems to indicate that users go out
and tum on all the lights even when using one field so maybe a handout
explaining field operation would be helpful or the switches could be put in
separate locking boxes with separate keys (sounds like a hassel).
Can they (the lights) be reduced from the time play ceases until the field is
emptied?
Yes, we can add wiring and do this, however, actually getting the users to do
this is very unlikely.
Another option would be to add a simple security light about 15' or 20' up
each pole and add wiring so that these lights come on each night from a photo
cell separate from the sports lighting. This could provide some park security
while also providing some light so that once the sports lighting is tumed off
it is not completly dark out there. Since the sports lighting will be ,
connecte
d to the Maxicom system we also have the option of automatically tuming off
the lights at a preset time. If we did this we really should have a security
lighting system so that users aren't caught in the dark when the lights go
out.
If we want a security lighting system add to the poles (seems like a good idea
to me) we will have to let the contractor know soon before he pulls his wire.
Page 1
