DRAFT
ASCOT PARK BRIEFING NOTES
OCTOBER 13, 1993
1. We need to analyze the availability of other sites particularly in the
Willakenzie area. One site that was brought up a couple of times during the
meeting was Cal Young. The analysis needs to include everything from restroom
availability, comparing the number of fields to other sites, parking,
neighborhood impacts, etc.
2. We need to perform some analysis about how the lighting might impact
property values. This request was very specific by Paul Nicholson. I believe
the Assessor's Office might be able to help us on this one. I recall one time
several years ago the question about gravel roads versus paved roads and how
•
they effected? property values. I talked to an assessor at the Lane County
Assessment Office that gave me some very helpful advice. They might also be
able to help with this one.
3. I think we need some time to work on these issues and may need to delay
the project further. Its very important that we do accurate analysis and are
sure not to chew any analysis. The mistrust was certainly evident last night.
I believe this is also a group of people that will review any of our analysis
with a fine tooth comb. Its going to be difficult in the short time frame to
accomplish this. We probably need to have some analysis of how it will impact
youth and adult activities if we do not get the lighting project completed
this fall. I believe Doug Post and Bob Josephson will have to provide that
type of information.
