involvement process to develop a revenue measure which could be completed in October -
November 1996. This proposed workprogram has been included in the proposed FY97 budget
and is estimated to be $50,000.
By initiating this work activity now, it will be possible to complete by October - November 1996
a citizen involvement process to develop the elements of a revenue measure. Council would
then be in a position to make a decision regarding the scope of possible revenue measure in
1997, along with opportunities for public /private partnerships in the full range of acquisition,
development and maintenance needs.
Possible Alternatives:
Alternative 1: Approve the contingency request of $50,000 to initiate both phases of the
workprogram identified above.
Alternative 2: Approve Phase I only along with a contingency request of $20,000 to support the
staff work involved in identifying an acquisition program
Alternative 3: Do not approve the workprogram.
Budget /resource impact: If the Council chooses to proceed with the proposed workprogram,
approval of a General Fund contingency or currently available one time resources would be
necessary to accomplish this proposal.
The on -going operating costs for the various sites will have an impact on the general fund
budget. Consideration of this element will need to be evaluated in Phase I of the proposed
workprogram.
Alt. 1: $50,000 for staff and consultant resource (LCOG or other planning consultant)
Alt 2: $20,000 for consultant and/or staff resources (LCOG, map production)
