3. Youth Sports Parks /4J
Bid date target is January 14 Joint City Council - 4J Board meeting scheduled for February 16"'.
4. Delta Ponds.
The Corps of Engineers has a preliminary report on a proposed project th restore fish habitat, and will
begin the design phase of the project to enhance wetlands /river - related values. The opportunity was
identified to coordinate City- supported project elements into the Corps project scope that may not
otherwise be included in the Corps project definition. The nature and availability of different funding
sources will need additional work, which should be started soon. Parks Planning will follow up.
5. Sports Fields
All of the first round of sports field upgrades have been completed, and should be playable in late
spring or early summer. Some improvements originally scheduled as "maintenance' level upgrades
were actually completed with full sand channel drainage improvements, at higher cost. This will
require reduction is scope for the second round of field improvements this summer. The improvement
project at the Willakenzie School field was identified as a possible reduction, given the School
District's indication that the were reviewing the status of that school.
A. Decision. If funding for Willakenzie improvements remain marginal, review the potential
for a "maintenance" level project at this site, rather than full drainage improvements.
Meetings
The Policy Team will begin more regular meetings, as the pace of projects and level of issues have
increased to the pint where more regular policy review is needed. A more structured format, with
minutes documenting decisions reached, will be followed.
The next meeting will be scheduled for the week of February 7 prior to the February 16 joint
Council /4J Board meeting. Agenda items will include:
Community Parks Land
4J /Sports Park status
Amazon Pool stormwater mitigation pilot project resolution
Corps or Engineers relationships re: Delta Ponds and Skinner Butte Park
