AUG -26 -1999 08 09 SD4J FACILITIES MANAGMENT 15416873686 P. 07/13
CC)
To Bill Hirsh via FAX#1.541- 687 -3686 (this page only) 5 5,
Dear Bill
As a follow -up to my suggestion in our lest phone conversation, 1 thought it would help you to write down
the pros of a combined consultant team on this project.
1, The people who know parks design and construction "do parks ". The people who know synthetic-
fields design and construction 'do synthetic fields ".
2. The areas of work are clearly delineated. There will be no issues of which consultant is doing
which work. We would be happy to work as a sub-consultant to the other firm.
3. The synthetic fields components could be fast tracked and designed independent of the parks
component providing additional time for user group input on the parks component and assuring
the fields were completed for a September opening.
4 . The School District end the City will realize the benefit of the combined expertise in a more
competitive construction cost and a final product that was properly specified and inspected,
5. The combined approach will better assure completion of the project on schedule, which based on
our detailed analysis and experience, is very tight.
6. You would realize the fee savings from our work component rather than having to negotiate for a
reduced fee from the other firm.
7. We would propose an 8% fee for our component of the project and are Open to negotiations on
this.
Jon P. Reimann
•
