Rather than keeping the parks and open spaces philosophy, it will decrease the
tunnbo r of folds and play areas available. will replace open grass with concrete, artificial turf
and fencing, and contribute more to the noise, congestion, and pollution we already experience.
We realise the city and district have finally taken some steps to lessen the traffic impact and the
linos accumulation, fatter mote than ten years of continuous phoning) but we're justifiably
concerned about future maintenance and funding when the budget changes or the money huts
out. Even now the hen= line around the track is cut/trimmed once every two or three years if we
are lucky.
The idea ofa chain link fence all around Sheldon Meadows in an attempt to reroute parking and
traffic makes us sad How can a fence contribute to "open spaces"?
We feel that the monies placated for this project could be bettet spell on a single complex, one
field for the four high schools, with adequate parking, play area, and space for additional
Practice fields to be developed if the city puts money in, we know the stadium will get much
more use than the promised five Friday night football games.
So we ask you, as we have from last September when we first tattled of this plan, to please not
additionally impart our already saturated neighborhood using our dollars,
Thank You.
# .—t / c A, ...
Dale and Glenna Rettmann
