5) City would recognize the West Amazon alignment as part of Ridgeline Trail system,
and standard signage should be erected at the West Amazon /Martin intersection.
6) Canyon Drive trail section would be considered a neighborhood connector to the main
Ridgeline Trail system.
7) Canyon Drive section would follow a creek side alignment rather than a slope- traverse
alignment, for best visitor experience and least erosion /sedimentation risk..
8) Since bridge construction costs could limit the viability of a creekside alignment for the
Canyon Drive section, SEN pledges skilled volunteer labor for bridge design and
construction, suitable to meet city engineering standards.
9) Trail - building efforts on the upper Headwaters Trail section and the Canyon Drive
section should be proceed in parallel with signage improvements and neighborhood
maintenance of the West Amazon section.
10) Immediate neighbors, who have been concemed about the environmental and cultural
impacts of a Canyon Drive terminus for the Headwaters Trail, are endorsing this proposal
as appropriately moderating those impacts.
Thank you again for your consideration of these points. We look forward to mutual
acknowledgement that this approach defines a win -win proposition with consensus support,
to result in timely and appropriate Amazon Headwaters Trail development.
Respectfully,
Kevin Matthews
President, :•uth st Neighbors
Davi • Monk
Vice President, Southeast Neighbors
•
www.Soufiheas- Neighbors.or9 page 2
