EUGENE Parks Recreation
& Cultural Services
City of Eugene
22 West 7th Avenue
Eugene, Oregon 97401
(503) 687 -5333
(503) 683 -6834 FAX
April 14, 1993
Anne Blandin
2456 Onyx
Eugene OR 97403
Dear Anne,
I met with Dick Morgan and Dee Grissell following our meeting and the details addressed
here are an addendum to your Application and Agreement for use of Recreation Facility.
As we discussed, the fact that you have proposed that a portion of the revenue from this
event would benefit the Owen Rose Garden is pivotal to the City's approving this type of use
for the Owen Rose Garden. The City will accept your revised budget and your proposal for
donating a percentage of the gross gate revenue. The Owen Rose Garden will receive 10%
of the gross of the gate revenue up to $7,800 and 20% of the gate gross if the gate exceeds
$7,800. The price of admission will be $3 per person.
Since this event is limited to a portion of the Rose Garden, Dee Grissell and the rose garden
staff will arrive at an agreement with you regarding the exact nature of the admission price,
whether it is mandatory or voluntary, and the signage and wording to be displayed at the
gates.
The City agrees to exclusively dedicate the donated portion of the funds to improvements in
Owen Rose Garden.
You may use the fact that this event is a benefit to Owen Rose Garden as part of your
publicity by stating "This event is produced with the cooperation of the City of Eugene; a
portion of the revenue will be donated to the Owen Rose Garden ".
You will provide an accounting and payment in full by 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 1993.
Final payment will be made to Public Works Maintenance, 1820 Roosevelt Blvd.
There are several other issues that should be addressed:
1. The Rose Garden staff will provide consultation that facilitates the artists, vendors,
and crowd control and clearly identifies areas that are accessible and uses that are permitted.
Staff should provide clear instructions about drive -in access, and agree to a load -in and load -
out schedule.
