Carolyn McDermed, Bob Richards, John Ahlen, Joann <br /> Epli, Johnny Medlin, Angela Crawford, Patti Worthen, Robin Samora, Bob Dritz, Paul Solomon, <br /> Sig Dickman, Carla Newbre, Francisca Leyva - Johnson, Michelle Mortensen, Janice Gotchall, <br /> Paul Wagner, Eric Van Houten, CSO Debbie Janacek <br /> I. Introductions <br /> II. Approval of Minutes from October 12, 04 meeting <br /> III. SARA Model - Presentation by Crime Prevention Specialist Tod Schneider on CPTED and <br /> the SARA problem - solving model with discussion. <br /> IV. Downtown, Monroe & Scobert Park - Problem - solving (through Scan component) by the <br /> whole group, focusing on Monroe Park, Scobert Park and the Downtown area. (See summary of <br /> work attached) <br /> V. Street Level Issues /Problem Solving <br /> a) Status /update on previously discussed items - None discussed <br /> b) New Issues - Presentation by Bob Dritz of Whitebird: Mental Health Crisis Urgent Care <br /> Up until now, people in this position ended up with police and/or the Emergency room. <br /> Proposing a tri-part model <br /> there is already a 24 hour crisis team <br /> - Cahoots is already in place as a mobile team <br /> Proposal is to combine these 2 components and create a 3 component which would be a <br /> mental health evaluation and examination piece. They would be able to prescribe and provide <br /> medications. In concept, it would be a little urgent care facility with psychiatric nurses, <br /> medications available, and trained personnel for observation. <br /> The Center is in the visionary state. LCMH is sold on it and may give staff and psychiatric <br /> back -up. <br /> This is the time for input and support. (Note: 20% of the Emergency Room intake are due to <br /> behavioral health issues.) <br /> VI. Info. Share <br /> *There has been an increase in the number of elderly men in the community. <br /> *There is an increase in persons using the New Roads Drop -In, particularly with mental health <br /> issues. <br /> VII. Next CRT OPS meeting to be held January 11, 2005, 2:00 p.m. JRH Conference Room, <br /> Eugene Police Department. REFRESHMENTS will be provided!! <br />
