Date: 10/19/92
From: John Etter CERMJFE - RIS1
To: Les Lyle CEWELAL - RIS1
Subject: Polk Street Paving
I have a single drawing for the paving of Polk Street beyond the R/W in
Maurie Jacobs Park, drawn by Ron Lyons, dated 4/80, with a project number of
1866. As part of the Maurie Jacobs improvements, this was the 5th item down
the menu, and it looks as if the funding will stretch that far.
It was the intent of the project by the donors that the park be made more
complete with aesthetic and functional improvements. The Whiteaker Neighbors
identified paving the street as one of their desired improvements, provided
adjoining residents would not be assessed. Since there is no R/W where there
should be, I don't believe we would technically violate any city policy if it
were to be built as a park project. Sometime after completion, however, I
think it should be dedfcated as R/W so that the three residences can have
official street frontage.
What I need at this point is an estimate for the job to see if it fits within
our remaining budget. If there is some PSF expense involved in the estimate,
I think I could come up with something reasonably close if I could have the
benefit of come current cost records that I think are still compiled in your
division. One way or another, I need the estimate by 11/6.
. ..
