SCOPE OF MANAGEMENT PLAN <br /> The consultant is being asked to develop a management plan for the natural area of Hendricks <br /> Park which will be in accord with the vision statement provided by the DAC. The plan is to be <br /> developed in the context of this natural area being a part of one of Eugene's premier city parks <br /> which is surrounded by urban development. <br /> The report of the consultant will be used by the City in its park management, maintenance, and <br /> design decisions. As the consultant develops management plan proposed actions or <br /> recommendations he /she should also develop accompanying strategies on how these could be <br /> implemented and measured over time. <br /> The DAC has developed a list of issues /instructions in three categories which they feel have a <br /> high priority in being addressed in the management plan. These categories are ecological issues, <br /> people issues and administrative issues. <br /> The consultant is asked to review the issues /instructions identified by the DAC and respond on <br /> how he or she proposes that these issues would be addressed in the management plan. For those <br /> components that would include both an office and a field research aspect, please indicate the <br /> approximate percentage you would feel best represented your anticipated split in time. <br /> If you feel a specific issue can not be addressed within the scope of the time line, budget, or due <br /> to other considerations please specify the issue and provide an explanation. <br /> If you feel there are major issues omitted in the list below which you would feel should be <br /> addressed in this management plan, please identify those issues and provide an explanation of the <br /> scope with which you would propose to address the issue. <br /> ECOLOGICAL ISSUES <br /> The goal is to have an accessible, native forest within the context of an urban <br /> environment. <br /> • Develop the following inventories. <br /> • Plants, snags, coarse woody debris <br /> • Animals <br /> • Pathogens <br /> • Soils <br /> • Hydrological Conditions <br /> • Infrastructure <br /> I lendricks Park Forested Area Management Plan -- Request for Proposals P.3 <br />
