COMMENTS ON REED'S PERSONNEL;
Reed: Park and Recreation planning; local work, and similar scale work. Corvallis work
in forest is analogous.
Newhouse: On advisory boards for pertinent local groups; local work includes East Alton
Baker, and Masonic Cemetery, and the NPSO. The work on the Spring Creek Turtle Preserve is
well presented and considered. Especially the "Restoration Potential."
Brainerd: local, professional affiliation, especially, NPSO , experience in community and
wildlife mapping, strong forestry research background, including mycorrhizal associations with
forest trees.
Sperry: what is his experience to locate and describe fungi and who is working on his
team?
Lueck: a good community asset; as his background statements say he does make natural
sciences accessible to the general public.
WORK PRESENTED;
Willamette Park work - similar in size to Hendricks Park and is park work.
Eastgate Alton Baker Park - is general planning, but lack a "landscape ecology" frame of
reference. Good understanding of related dollars to maintenance activities and capitol
improvement money.
Inventories by Salix are very good and as noted in the proposal will require listing non-
native invasive plants as well.
The Spring Creek proposals a sensitive management plan based on the site, occupants,
social use, history and restoration potential. This is the only report to cite literature.
