Date: 02/17/93
From: Johnny Medlin CEWMJRM - RIS1
To: Linda Norris CEPNLHN - RIS1
cc: Bob Hammitt CEWMJRH - RIS1
John Etter CERMJFE - RIS1
Subject: Golden Gardens
Reference: Your note of 02/17/93 09:11 attached below
Hi Linda,
There has been no movement on Golden Gardens since we had our meeting out
here at Roosevelt that you and Chris attended. I understand from the
Real Estate agent that her clients are looking at their options and have
not come to agreement on a course of action. She has asked if the City
would be open to a "cash deal ", our reply has been that we would pass on
any proposal they made but that John and I feel a cash deal would not be
in the Park Systems best interest and would recommend not accepting cash.
They are still exploring the financial possibilities of relocating the
portion of the A2 channel which bisects their property. While very costly
to them ($ 75,000+ likely) it would give them additional area in which to
site the greens.
The grapevine has told me that they may decide to proceed with the Golf
Course development on their own to expedite the whole project. This would
drop the immediate plan to work out a swap but leave the option open to
continue discussions at a later date. I'll let you know if anything else
turns up. Thanks
Johnny
ATTACHED NOTE
Date: 02/17/93
From: Linda Norris CEPNLHN - RIS1
To: Johnny Medlin CEWMJRM - RIS1
Subject: Golden Gardens
Johnny, what is the status of Golden Gardens? Have you met with the
appraisers yet? (Barbara Keller has asked me about this) Please let
me know where we are, and I'll call her. Thanks, Linda
