10/18/2004 MON 9:55 FAX 541 682 5032 PW Engineering Z001/002
OA GE ENGINEERING & SURVEYING. INC.
May 27, 2004 f ;:›64 1
Attn: Ginger Perales, Engineering Associate m (r\ r a- ? Z
City of Eugene
Public Works Engineering
i
858 Pearl Street
Eugene, OR 97401
Re: Mallard Lake Estates First Addition
Dear Ginger,
Some changes have been made to this project. On May 11, 2004 we asked the City of
Eugene Parks and Open Space Department (Jonny Medlin and Andrea Rifler) if the city was
interested in helping to pay for Jessen Street being constructed as a full street, and they said yes. So,
now you have a slightly different design with a full street section and an additional stormwater catch
basin and curb inlets to help pickup the storm water runoff. Also, our office is going to help put
together some agreement between the developer and the city for the additional cost associated with
constructing Jessen Street.
To help you out, the areas which have been changed on the construction drawings are:
1. Full Street with curb & gutter along Jessen Street.
2. No curb & gutter from Devos to Sta. 2 +05 on the south side of the street
3. New drywell manhole with one catch basin and one curb inlet at sta. 0 +21.50
4. One new curb inlet at sta. 9 +52.40
5. Paving will not go south on Devos, paving will only be to the intersection of Jessen &
Devos.
6. New storm sewer calculations.
7. Adjusted street grades for proper drainage to storm sewer.
•
Finally, I have not provided any calculations for the storm sewer drywell manhole at sta.
0 +21.50. This area always has a water puddle during rain storms and it is hoped that the design
presented will help alleviate the problem. Also, this design will enable future drainage design to the
ponds on the north side of Jessen.
Hopefully, this covers most of the changes. Finally, I am sending you a copy of the memo I sent to
the Parks & Open Space Department. Also, notice how I forgot to include sidewalks in the cost to
the city. Sidewalks will have to be included as an extra.
Sincerely,
V' l w a--
Matthew M. Warren
CIVIL /ENVIROA'.MENTAL ENGINEERING SURVEYING
P.O. BOX 2527 El GENE.
