• <br /> Facilitation Tools to be Used <br /> • Ground Rules <br /> Facilitators will assist the group to develop ground rules which support the <br /> group's effectiveness in achieving its goals. Ground rules will be developed by <br /> the members at the first meeting with help of the facilitators. <br /> • Agenda setting/Meeting design. <br /> Facilitators will help the group establish agendas for each meeting and will <br /> assist the group to focus on the agenda's content. Facilitators will also <br /> consult with lead staff between meetings and at other times as requested <br /> regarding meeting design and strategy. <br /> • Emotional Behavior Management. <br /> The facilitators will address behaviors directly and assist the DAC to assess <br /> them for consistency with the group's mutually - agreed upon ground rules and <br /> effectiveness. Group members will be encouraged to share the underlying <br /> reasons for their emotional responses to the extent that such intervention will <br /> support the group's effectiveness. <br /> • Conflict Resolution Strategies. <br /> Conflicts between members are expected to occur. Facilitators will use <br /> consensus- based, collaborative processes to address conflicts in a way that <br /> supports the group achieving its goals. <br /> Phases of Facilitation/Group Process (with Time Estimates) <br /> Phase I (Pre- Organization Interviews and Consultation with Staff) <br /> • Interviews with DAC members prior to first DAC meeting (8 hours) <br /> • Consultation with Staff during interview process (2 hours) <br /> Phase II (Organizational meetings; developing vision and goals for FMP; <br /> recommended criteria for FMP Consultant) <br /> • Group Meetings (est: 14 hours @ 7 two -hr mtgs) <br /> • De -brief and strategy with Lead Staff (est: 7 hrs @ 7 one -hr mtgs) <br />
