Johnny Medlin
Maintenance Support Mgr.
City of Eugene
1820 Roosevelt Blvd.
Eugene, OR. 97402
January 22, 1998
RE: Hendrick's Park Meeting Facilitation Proposal
Dear Johnny:
This is a proposal for facilitation services in response to our conversation with
you last Friday (1/16/98). This proposal reiterates our understanding of your
needs and identifies roles and steps that will be used to accomplish the City's
goals with respect to the Department Advisory Committee (DAC).
Our understanding of the goals of the DAC include:
1) Propose vision and goals for a Forest Management Plan (FMP) for
Hendricks Park.
2) Propose criteria for the selection of a consultant to develop a DRAFT
FMP that responds to the above- mentioned goals.
3) Upon receipt of the DRAFT FMP assist the group to critique and
propose refinements to the draft.
4) Recommend adoption and /or modification of the revised FMP to the
Director of Public Works.
Our proposal covers the following:
Role of Facilitators
Facilitators will manage the process the group uses to achieve its goals,
provide information about activities and behaviors that help promote the
group's effectiveness by sharing their observations, test these observations
and inferences with the group, and intervene in activities and behaviors that
undermine effectiveness with the goal of re- directing such activities.
Facilitators will use commonly accepted techniques to help the group meet
the above - stated goals.
