JENNINGS Carrie A
From: JENNINGS Carrie A
To: SWANSON GRIBSKOV Laurie
Subject: Hazardous Tree Removal in Hendricks Park
Date: Wednesday, June 11, 1997 2:59PM
FROM: Bob Hammitt
I am sorry we could not touch base today. The best time to contact me tomorrow is between 6:00 am and
8:45 am. After that I am pretty well booked all day with meetings.
As you know, City Manager, Vicki Elmer, decided last Friday to postpone the hazardous tree removal
project in Hendricks Park (cooling down period). When she made that decision, we removed the postings
and canceled the June 17th meeting scheduled for public input. A press release regarding the cancelled
meeting was made and Scott did several interviews. There were approximately 80 letters to be mailed to
the interested parties list that were also stopped. We plan to send a staff person to the shelter on June
17th in case some people did not get the message that the meeting was cancelled.
We had already sent letters with your signature to the 10 people who contacted you directly. We will
notify them in writing of the rescheduled meeting.
I am suggesting that we reschedule the meeting for July 17th, between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm, to begin
the process again. When we send out the notice for the rescheduled meeting we plan to post the trees
again so the interested parties know exactly which tree we are proposing for removal.
Does this sound workable or do you have some other thoughts?
Page 1
