r Erg <br /> 2004 Progress Report <br /> FRIENDS OF <br /> Hendricks Park <br /> Presented to Parks and Open Space Managers April, 2004 <br /> Growing the Organization <br /> Increasing Membership <br /> • Membership grew more than 70% during 2003. <br /> • Increased from 123 households and five business members <br /> to 210 households and 11 business members. <br /> Raising Funds <br /> • Fundraising efforts during 2003 resulted in over $22,000 in dues and donations. <br /> • Program revenues from the Mending Natural Systems in our Cities educational conference <br /> generated more than $5,000, offsetting most of the direct conference expense. <br /> • In two and a half years, Friends of Hendricks Park has generated almost $53,000 from <br /> neighbors who support the Forest Management Plan vision for the Park. <br /> Supporting the Park <br /> FoHP has spent: <br /> • over $15,000 in support of direct projects in the Native Plant Garden and in the Forest. <br /> • over $7,000 informing the public of Park issues and events via our newsletter, <br /> The Park Bench, sent to 1200 to 1500 neighbors, <br /> • over $6,000 supporting educational lectures and conferences relating to park resource <br /> issues, and over $600 supporting volunteer activities in the Park. <br /> Generating Grants <br /> • City of Eugene Neighborhood Grant: FoHP helped secure a grant of $1900 from the <br /> Neighborhood Grant Program (City of Eugene) to build an information kiosk for Hendricks <br /> Park and surrounding neighborhood organizations. <br /> • REI Grant: Applied for and received a $2,000 grant from REI for signage and maps for the <br /> Oak Knoll Trail. Map is being developed and is scheduled to be finished by end of year. <br />
