Fred Austin
VI. Staffing David Moon
VII. Other discussions if there is time:
a. Bathrooms: Inconvenience in having rock restroom closed so much of year —with park
activities going on such as work parties, garden tours. Can open dates by changed
without putting extra burden on park staff? Can restrooms be heated to avoid cold
weather problems? Does it need to be remodeled to make wheelchair accessible? Is
there federal funding for this kind of remodeling? How is the contract for bathroom
closing handled? Can it be revisited with the Friends bidding on this?
b. Boundary completion: How many home owners have been talked to? What is the plan
concerning boundary edges? Are boundary edges being reclaimed by ivy removal? Is
this following the Forest Restoration protocol and Bradley method? How is this funded?
c. Youth groups in the park: Friends of Hendricks Park wholeheartedly supports the use
of youth groups in the park for projects, i.e. NW Youth Corp, Looking Glass. We
support our community youth programs as an important resource for developing better
communities.
d. Centennial Planning: We hope to work closely with the POS centennial planning
committee with a liaison from FoHP on the committee.
