At the CPC meeting of October 15 voting could occur, and Mr. Hyde would carry the
recommendations back to the Willamalane Board to be considered at their October 28 meeting.
This would mean new members would be appointed before November 1, the end of the old term.
New members would be oriented and be prepared to attend their first meeting in January.
Mr. Hyde commented that there were different formats for this work to be accomplished, though
he recommended the open public meeting format. Ms. Behm suggested that the Chair, Vice
Chair and Secretary get together and make the recommendations and send them in an email to
the remaining members. Recapping, Mr. Hyde said that the direction he was hearing from the
CPC was to follow the process as presented except that, instead of the full CPC reviewing the
applications and forwarding their recommendations to the Willamalane Board, that function
would be delegated to an ad hoc subcommittee comprising the CPC Chair, Vice Chair and
Secretary.
Mr. Sonnichsen said there was also a Eugene opening, and that an applicant was in the audience,
Elliot McIntire, who had been a past CPC member. Ms. Larison suggested inviting the
applicants to attend the October 15 meeting, just for experience. It was agreed this was a good
idea.
Mr. Richardson said the City's recruitment process started at the beginning of July, but that the
Eugene CPC position was a mid -term vacancy, which could be a different process. He said he
would send Mr. McIntire's application to Mr. Cooper and work with him on an appropriate
process to get the mid -term vacancy filled.
11. Set Next Meeting Time
The next CPC meeting was scheduled for Thursday, October 15. Mr. Hyde said he would
arrange a meeting place and let everyone know where it would be held.
12. Adjourn
Mr. Cooper adjourned the meeting at 7:50 p.m.
(Recorded by Judy Burton)
MINUTES— Citizen Planning Committee for July 16, 2009
Whilamut Natural Area
