Review and Adjust Agenda <br />Mr. Cooper called the meeting of the Citizen Planning Committee (CPC) for the Whilamut <br />Natural Area of Alton Baker Park to order. He reviewed the agenda and adjusted the agenda by <br />moving 9a, the Pre's Trail detour discussion, to the Public Comment section. <br />2. Introductions <br />Mr. Cooper passed around a current roster of member names /addresses to be updated as <br />necessary. Those present introduced themselves. <br />3. Public Comment <br />Gene Holloter asked whether more Talking Stones were going to be installed and what was <br />happening about a roundabout on the bike path. Mr. Sonnichsen said there were currently eleven <br />Talking Stones and four more would be coming. Ms. Larison responded that there would be no <br />roundabout. <br />Zachary Vishanoff remarked that he had been following the Oregon Research Institute (ORI) <br />building project that was being located at the river's edge, and that the parking was slated to go <br />right to the river's edge as well. Mr. Vishanoff hoped that members of this committee would take <br />a look at the project and recommend some kind of mitigation, where possibly the parking would <br />move to the railroad side of the building and provide a buffer of trees along the bike path. <br />Otherwise, he said, the bike path view passing EWEB would look like a used car lot. He <br />remarked that the Riverfront Research Park master plan was created in 1988 and was outdated. <br />He was concerned that the ORI building would open a kind of back door in the research park for <br />bad projects to follow.
