MINUTES
Citizen Planning Committee for the Whilamut Natural Area
Sloat Room —The Atrium Building
99 West 10` Avenue
January 10, 2008
6 p.m.
PRESENT: Dennis Ernst, Chair; David Sonnichsen, Chair; Charlotte Behm, Mary Morrison, Cora
Jones, Charlene Larison, Vicki Mello, Jeff Ard, Steve Cooper, Theresa Brand, William
Hughes, Sally Nunn, Charles Biggs, Susan Reddoor, members; Philip Richardson, City of
Eugene; Pat French, Willamalane Park and Recreation District; Gene Holloter, guest.
ABSENT: Barbara May, member.
1. Review and Adjust Agenda
Mr. Ernst called the meeting of the Citizen Planning Subcommittee (CPC) for the Whilamut Natural Area
to order.
2. Introductions
Those present introduced themselves and noted their subcommittee assignments.
3. Public Comment
Mr. Ernst called for public comment.
Gene Holloter was still interested in seeing the issue related to the two parking lots settled; they should
be taken out of the natural area or the University of Oregon (UO) should stop using them. He was curious
about the resolution of that issue.
4. Approval of Minutes of October 11, 2007, CPC Meeting
Mr. Sonnichsen noted his electronic submission of corrections to the minutes.
Mr. Cooper referred to page 11 of the minutes, which reflected the CPC's vote confirming the majority's
opposition to the hammer throw in the Whilamut Natural Area. He said it was brought to his attention the
intent of the motion was to affirm the park plan and it was not his intent to vote against the park plan.
Ms. Larison concurred.
MINUTES - Citizen Planning Subcommittee of the January 10, 2008 Page 1
Whilamut Natural Area
