Savage Rapids Dam <br /> Preliminary investigations at this site support removal of the dam, as proposed by the <br /> Bureau of Reclamation, as the best option and that boat /fish passage and public safety <br /> should be primary issues in the design of this project. Improvements should focus on <br /> preserving the existing bedrock with some small enhancements to the streambed to improve <br /> fish passage /habitat and to create safe boat passage in a natural park setting. Improvements <br /> to this site may not create a major destination whitewater park but will improve trips for <br /> float through paddlers from the Town of Rogue River to Grants Pass. <br /> 9 <br />
