Environmental Education Prepare a District Environmental Education Strategy. <br /> Coordinate all environmental education programs on the District. Work with the District <br /> and Resource area staff to support environmental education programs on the District. <br /> Identify funding opportunities, through approved procedures in compliance with all <br /> ethics regulations, for environmental education programs. Work with District Staff <br /> to ensure adequate staff is available to support the appropriate environmental education <br /> programs (i.e. Salmon Watch, Forests Today and Forever, etc.). Coordinate the <br /> District's role in Citizen Science. The coordinator will be the principal contact for all <br /> environmental education on the Eugene District. <br /> 3. Volunteer Coordination Coordinates all volunteer programs on the district. The <br /> coordinator works with District and resource area employees to recruit volunteers for a <br /> variety of programs within the district. The coordinator works with community <br /> organizations matching volunteer opportunities with the organization and district <br /> programs. The coordinator ensures that all volunteer training and documentation meets <br /> bureau and District regulations, policies, and guidelines. <br /> 4. Secure Rural Schools Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) coordination <br /> Serves as the District contact for the RAC. Coordinates and facilitates the scheduled <br /> meetings for the RAC. Ensures that the RAC operates with -in the scope of its charter <br /> and guidelines. Serves as point of contact for project applicants. Provides guidance for <br /> applicants and works with the appropriate district and resource area staff to ensure that <br /> the projects meet the goals of the Secure Rural Schools and Self- Determination Act. <br /> Coordinates project submissions, ensuring that the format and information is correct. <br /> Provides a briefing to Core Leadership Team (CLT) on progress of submissions prior to <br /> scheduled meetings. Provides a complete package of proposals to CLT for approval <br /> and ranking. Coordinates with district staff that is the assigned as project points of <br /> contact for existing agreements to ensure that funds are utilized and projects are <br /> meeting proposed deadlines. Maintains the appropriate data bases and associated <br /> spreadsheets. <br /> 5. Take it Outside, Hands on the Land, and the Youth Conservation Corps <br /> Serves as the youth program principle point of contact for the Eugene District.
