The thing I want to avoid, though, is <br /> having city staff distribute copies of the note to committee <br /> members, or committee members distributing it in the <br /> meeting -- because as Dan points out, at that point it becomes <br /> public record and we have to distribute it to anyone who asks. <br /> So the review needs to take place completely outside of the <br /> meetings. They may <br /> decide in the January 7th meeting that all of them should see <br /> it before making a decision. If so we (or someone) can be <br /> sure they all review it and put the issue on the January 14th <br /> agenda. If they vote as a group to recommend that Tom is <br /> removed then we would bring that recommendation to Chris and <br /> Dave for final decision. By the time the final decision is <br /> made, the work of the committee will be nearly complete. I <br /> don't think we need a legal opinion. Seems pretty cut and <br /> dried to me.
