MEMO.197 Page 1
MEMORANDUM
To: Scobert Park Department Advisory Committee
From: Marge Beck and Lauren Chouinard, Facilitators
Subject: Membership Question
Date: January 8, 1997
Here are the decisions, as we see them, that you need to make:
1. Is Tom's note concerning Doug a matter the committee should take action on?
If your answer to the first question is no, the matter stops there and you proceed with the rest of
your business. If the answer is yes, you need to consider the next question:
2. What is the appropriate action to take?
A) recommend to the department directors of Public Safety and Public Works that Tom be
removed from the committee for violation of ground rules; or
B) some other alternative, such as a motion of censure or referring the matter to the City
Human Rights Commission.
This will be your first item of business after public input and approval of minutes.
We will provide time before you vote so that anyone who wants to speak on the issue can do so.
We recommend that you vote on both questions by secret ballot, and we will be prepared to
handle it that way unless you tell us at the meeting to do it differently.
Thank you all for your serious and thoughtful consideration of this issue.
