. ,
Wh y is. Scobert Park Closed ?
In response to a petition from neighbors, the City of Eugene
Public Works Department agreed to temporarily close Scobert
Park to all uses from September 9 to December 1. The
decision to temporarily close the park was made for several
reasons:
• Closing the park gives trampled vegetation a chance to
recover. During the closure, the park will be maintained
to help restore the landscaping, much of which has been
planted by volunteers.
• Closing the park gives neighbors relief from current
illegal activities.
• Closing the park gives the community an opportunity to
seek long -term solutions to park problems, including drug
use, vandalism, and other criminal activities.
Hel p revitalize Scobert Park!
• Respect the closure. Police are aware of the closure
and will be taking appropriate enforcement action.
• Respect the park. Look for opportunities to volunteer.
• Participate in finding solutions.
For more information, call the Eugene
Department of Public Works at 687 -5220 EUGENE
