Zahar,
spoke with Lt. Brett by phone today at 1830 hrs and he concurred that the request for 2 officers to assist
Public Works at 0800 hrs on Tuesday should go through the Watch Commanders Office.
Parks Dept. will begin to post signs and install a 42" fence to close off approximately 2/3 of the rear
portion of Scobert Park. They will begin at 0800 hrs on Tuesday, 9- 17 -96. An Administrative Order,
directing that portions pf Scobert Park will be temporarily closed, should be signed by the Director of Public
Works this evening.
FYI,
This temporary closure is the result of a mediated settlement between various neighbors /groups in
Whiteaker. However, there is a possibility that the closure may be met with some form of resistance /Civil
Disobendience. Dick Morgan received a report that there were postings on local Internet Newsgroups
calling this new compromise unfair.
Lt. Brett indicated that he will be in to work tomorrow morning and will also be attending a meeting at
0900 hrs in the City Managers office regarding the park closure.
Rich Bremer
Page 1
