HAMMITT Bob
From: MORGAN Dick A
To: HORNBUCKLE Kevin A
Cc: HAMMITT Bob; ANDERSEN Chris F; BOLES Shawn M
Subject: RE: Scobert
Date: Thursday, July 18, 1996 2:21 PM
Kevin, I have spoken with Doug Ebbitts, Bob Emmons and Lt. Tom Brett who were all at the meeting
regarding the possible temporary closure of Scobert Park. I had a long conversation with Doug about the
process that he should use in working with the Whitaker Community Council, park neighbors and
businesses in the area. He will begin the process next wednesday (7/24/96) at their regularly scheduled
meeting. When W. University park was closed an Administrative order was put in place that allows for the
temporary closure of all or portions of a park when conditions exist that threaten the welfare or safety of
nearby residents. We will work the neighbors and community council on coming to a resolution of this
issue. Dick Morgan
From: HORNBUCKLE Kevin A
To: MORGAN Dick A
Subject: Scobert
Date: Thursday, July 18, 1996 12:37PM
Please look into what it would take physically to temporarily close Scobert Park.
Neighbors are concerned about the trampling of the vegetation
and the inappropriate use of the park.
Page 1
