TABLE 40V
Putting money in parks instead of the schools, and the increased class size of the schools now.
1 think because park money could be better spent. From what I have noticed there are enough parks now. There is enough
traffic now in the Santa Clara area and Eugene without adding more.
If 1 understand it, it was voted against by the community and now the city council wants to go ahead with it. The money could
be used for other things. There are enough parks.
They can't take care of what they have now. The area proposed is going to affect the whole Santa Clara area and it can't
support the traffic that is out there now.
I don't see how the area can handle that much new traffic in the area when they have trouble with the traffic they have now. 1
can't see buying more parkland when we need more important things.
If 207 acres are purchased, I can see our taxes being increased to supposedly maintain and improve the parks. Somehow
taxes will be increased somewhere along the way.
97404
I pay enough taxes now.
They, the city, never stick to the codes they set up. The places are ugly and the tax payers pay.
Everything comes down to my taxes as a homeowner. I pay an overwhelming amount now and this project would just make
them more.
I just would hesitate that the City will pull something else on us. (probe) They will charge us a lot more on taxes.
The cost doesn't justify it.
1 think it will cost the tax payers money to maintain and there is some concem about the children being near the railroad
tracks.
I don't want to pay for this with higher taxes. I'm all for a park but I don't want the city to sprawl haphazardly. I want the urban
growth boundary to stand.
An increase in taxes wouldn't be far behind this project. The traffic would a hell of a lot worse than it is now.
can see taxes all over. This is just a way to raise our taxes. Where are they gang to put all the traffic?
We want it to stay the way that it is out here. We don't need all the traffic and aggravation. River Road can't hold the traffic it
has now. We don't need the taxes and we don't need a park.
We use up all the farmland, what are we going to eat. I would just hate to see anything happen to the farms out here. It
sounds like another excuse to raise our taxes.
There are enough houses and traffic out in Santa Clara now. 1 bet that before long something will come up and then the city
will find a way to raise more taxes. 1 can see it coming with this.
We don't have all the details. The way that it sounded was that after the houses would be developed, maybe we would get a
park and community. They would have to put into effect a tax to cover it.
don't want anything like the development that is that large. 1 don't like the idea of low income housing. We don't want a big
park, just small neighborhood parks work great. Taxes will increase next.
1 am not opposed to a park but I don't want all the houses. We don't need a big park. Property taxes would be raised. We
have a nice park. The citizens carne up with a proposal that makes sense.
If this is going to be city land, I'm concemed about the tax base -1 don't want to be annexed.
