2. Assess Training Needs — The POS Division's Natural Resource Section will
conduct an annual review of their staffs' training status related to channel and
levee inspection; equipment operation; ICS procedures and protocols; safety and
personal protective equipment requirements; and emergency response call -out
procedures. Training gaps will be identified and either individual or group training
sessions will be scheduled to bring section staff up to the minimum level deemed
necessary to safely and effectively respond to emergency incidents along the
Amazon Creek Flood Control Works.
3. Annual Training Field Exercise — In addition to the above noted training
assessment, the POS Division's Natural Resource Section will conduct a field
exercise each fall along the levee portion of the Amazon Creek Flood Control
Works. This training will emphasize key operations and safety issues and should
include use of the equipment, vehicles, and staff that would normally be
employed in an actual emergency response operation.
Emergency Response Plan for Amazon Creek 21 September, 2008
P:\Cdocs\AP WARefDocs \E mergencyMgmt
