Parks Operation and Maintenance Local Option Levy $1.5 million over 4 years <br /> $300,000 first two years <br /> $450,000 second two years <br /> Estimated tax rate Tess than $8/year for $200,000 home. <br /> This measure is for fiscal responsibility regarding parks. <br /> There has been a flat o &m budget since 1998 and an anticipated <br /> increase ($300k) as new parks came on line has not been realized. <br /> 11. Park Land Acquisition and Development Bond Measure $14 million <br /> The parks measure that passed (by nearly a 3:1 margin) in 1998 <br /> was for $28 million. Thinking of this as a continuation measure, <br /> we see asking for half as much. Below is our sense of allocations, <br /> with candidate projects. Citizen input has indicated a desire for <br /> balance between developed parks and natural /open spaces. <br /> See supporting arguments below. In each category, we show <br /> examples of possible projects for consideration. <br /> Recreation ($3.5 million) <br /> Echo Hollow Pool Renovation and Expansion <br /> revamp existing pool and mechanical systems <br /> add family multi -use and kid pools, like Amazon Pool <br /> Multi -Use Fields Development <br /> Refurbish (resurface, irrigation and drainage) and crreate new faciliities <br /> Kinney Loop <br /> (a sports complex with 7 fields <br /> on city and 4J school properties) <br /> Jefferson Middle School Site (two all weather fields) <br /> Spring Creek and Awbry Park Schools <br /> Fields at new Santa Clara Community Park (if exchange occurs) <br /> Neighborhood/Community Parks ($3.5 million) <br /> Expand Park Blocks Downtown <br /> (acquire and redevelop butterfly garage,with county on parking) <br /> Jefferson Greenway Park (partner with neighborhood and Fairgrounds) <br /> Implement elements of Skinner Butte Park or CandleLight Park Plan <br /> Redevelopment of Neighborhood Park Playgrounds and Restrooms <br /> Design and Install Disc Golf Courses at several Community Parks <br /> Neighborhood Park acquistion in new developments. <br /> RidgeLine Trail Addition and Development ($3.5 million) <br /> East to Hendricks Park, Moon Mountain and LCC <br /> West to the West Eugene Wetlands, in Churchill area <br /> In the south hills, include Oak Savannah Sites <br /> Develop trails and trailheads for access to new segments <br />
