Ex- officio: Executive Director of Library, Recreation & Cultural Services Department, or <br /> designee <br /> Director of Parks and Open Spaces, or designee <br /> Director of Facilities, or designee <br /> Professional: 3 recognized Arts Professionals (such as artists, museum curator, art historian, <br /> conservator, or legal specialist) <br /> Ad hoc: Citizen with a demonstrated interest in the Visual Arts (or arts professional) <br /> No member of the Committee shall be a person whose business interests involve the selling of <br /> works of art or artists whose work is being considered by the Committee. The Committee may <br /> invite additional persons as non - voting participants to give advice to the Committee, including, for <br /> example: architect, landscape architect, etc. <br /> The Committee meets, as needed, to review and vote on decisions regarding the City's Art <br /> Collection and Public Art Program. The Committee Chairperson shall be selected by the <br /> Committee as a whole, and shall hold this position for a two -year term. <br /> If for any reason an appointed position on the Committee becomes vacant, the vacancy shall be <br /> filled in the same manner as original appointments. The replacement member shall serve for the <br /> unexpired portion of the vacating member's term. <br /> Meetings. Meetings of the PADDAC Committee shall be called by the Chairperson when there is <br /> a need. The Chairperson will also determine if additional participants might be needed for <br /> consultation, depending on the agenda. The following procedures shall be followed: <br /> 1. For each object under consideration for acquisition, the Division Manager or Visual Arts <br /> Coordinator shall present to the Committee the documentation and provenance of the <br /> work and explain its contribution to the Collection as a whole. <br /> 2. If possible, each object under consideration should be physically present for evaluation by <br /> members of the Committee. If the Chairperson determines that this is not possible, <br /> adequate photographs or slides of the work shall be presented to the Committee. <br /> 3. Minutes of all Committee meetings shall be taken and maintained. <br /> 4. The vote of the Committee shall make all decisions with reference to acquisitions. <br /> 5. The Division Manager shall notify donor(s) of acceptance or rejection of work. <br /> Criteria. Because the City's art collection reflects its desire for excellence and its commitment to <br /> Culture, before accepting work to the permanent collection, the Committee shall consider whether <br /> acquisitions meet certain conditions: <br />
