"Jack -of -all- trades" position within Facilities Maintenance. Personnel will
be required to be somewhat versed in general building maintenance, preventive
maintenance, carpentry, painting, the maintenance of plumbing, electrical and
mechanical systems.
Engineering Technician 2 (Maintenance Planning Technician) - This position
will be assigned the Maintenance Planning functions of the Facilities Main-
tenance Section and supervised by the Maintenance Planning Supervisor. Duties
of this position are very similar in theme to those of Maintenance Planning's
current Pavement Management Specialist position. Implementation and main-
tenance of the facilities inventory and auditing programs will be the primary
assignment of this position.
Data Control Clerk 2 - This is a new position and will be assigned to the
Office and Records Section and Supervised by the Office Supervisor. Duties of
this position are very similar in theme to those of the Office and Records
Section's Data Control Clerk 2 assigned to Fleet operations. The primary
assignment of this position will be the data control functions of maintaining
a maintenance management computer program for the instigation, tracking and
associated accounting for facilities maintenance work orders. This informa-
tion will be critical for the development of a historical database containing
the actual costs of maintaining the various building facilities. It is
anticipated the information from this database of actual costs will be used in
future years for rate setting during the annual budgeting process.
Page 9
Facilities Proposal
09/06/89 jrm
