Date: 07/15/93
From: Dave Ritter CEWMDPR - RIS1
To: Bob Hammitt CEWMJRH - RIS1
Subject: Wetlands
Bob, I spoke with Jack Long this afternoon. He said he was downtown and had ra
n into Les. They had a discussion about the OA I sent Les regarding the situat
ion at Richardson Bridge(I sent you a copy of the note I sent Les). Apparently
Les didnt like the tone of the note and thought it was just maintenance
trying to do there thing again disregarding wetlands. There are a couple thing
s with this that bothers me. 1. I thought the tone of my note was fairly mild.
I do want to know if Im suppose to fill the ditch back in and if we do my feeli
ngs are that Deborah and Ed should be the ones to explain that to complaining p
roperty owners. 2. I get tired of hearing the rumors that we are uncooperativ
e in these situations. I do need some direction on this one and do not plan on
filling in the ditch unless you instruct me to. I would appreciate it if you
could discuss the issue with Les. The other thing is that when there is time
I would appreciate it if you,Gene, Richard and myself could sit down and have a
discussion on the whole stormwater /wetland issue. Again, it gets real frustra
ting when I feel we have made a effort to change our ways but all I hear back i
s feedback that we are out there trying to destroy the world. DR
