NV FUNbS.WPD Page 1
MEMORANDUM
January 29, 1996
To: Bob Hammit, Director, Public Works Maintenance
From: Tim Rhay, Turf & Grounds Supervisor
Subject: Youth Corps Utilization and Funding
In response to your inquiry re: the above, I have reviewed the memorandum and list of possible projects
from LCOG dated January 16, 1996.
Funding is available for six weeks of youth corps maintenance projects at the rate of $1,000 /week. These
funds are available as the result of un- filled, budgeted positions in other program areas. No funds have been
specifically allocated for youth corps projects in FY96 or FY97.
Priority will be given to projects numbered EUG001 and EUG005 - EUG008 on the list provided with the
LCOG memorandum of January 16th. Projects EUG003 and EUG004 are dependent on our obtaining
additional information or plant materials and will be undertaken if possible. Project EUG002 can be used to
fill out any youth corps hours not used on other projects. The exact timing of some of this work will be
determined by weather, plant growth rates, and other factors beyond our control. Our wetlands maintenance
staffer will be the primary City contact and support for this work. It will be desirable for him to maintain
close coordination with the youth crew supervisor to facilitate project scheduling.
cc: Richard A.
