STBASCOM.COM Page 1
NOTES FOR MAYOR BASCOM
EUGENE STREAM TEAM
RECOGNITION CEREMONY
o Eugene Stream Team is the volunteer component of the City's Stormwater Management Program.
The work of the volunteers contributes to the protection and enhancement of water quality and habitat
of streams, wetlands, and ponds within the Eugene city limits.
o For the past 10 months, volunteers have been participating in a variety of activities, including:
storm drain stenciling parties, clean-up events, construction projects, vegetation removal, and
salvaging of native plant species.
o Tonight, we are honoring the first formal adoption of six natural areas in Eugene. By adopting
these sites, the six groups are taking on a stewardship role for these areas. Each groups is making a one- to
two -year commitment to protect and enhance the individual sites, which in turn will contribute to the
overall quality of the water in the Eugene area.
((MAYOR BASCOM NOTE: As you recognize each group, a representative from the group will come
forward to accept the award. Hand him/her the award and shake hands. Since there are only six awards,
don't worry if the audience wants to clap for each group. ))
The City of Eugene and the Stormwater Eugene Stream Team hereby recognizes:
McKinley Neighbors
for adopting
Amazon Creek -- City View to Oak Patch
to do
annual cleanups and pollution monitoring
April 1, 1995 to April 1, 19
Friends of Delta Ponds
for adopting
Delta Ponds
to do
annual cleanups and pollution monitoring
May 1, 1995 to May 31, 1996
((Continue onto next page))
