Cleveland St. south of W 24th Ave. that roughly parallels the creek to determine
capacity for additional flow. Determine the feasibility of connecting any new storm
facilities associated with future improvement of W 25th Ave. to the Cleveland St.
system in order to bypass the section of creek that runs through the residential lots.
This may require upsizing the existing 10" pipe system along Cleveland St. between
W 25th and W 24th Ayes. up to the next existing manhole north of 24th. Property
owners have already reported this system to surcharge through the manholes during
heavy storms. From the existing manhole north of 24th Ave. a pipe (possibly 24 ")
should be installed continuing north up Cleveland St. where no pipe currently exists to
the next existing manhole at 22nd Ave.
Status `96: Engineering is currently researching possible design options and easement
acquisition.
Status `97: The proposed 24" piped system was estimated to be cost prohibitive by
Engineering. Survey work is scheduled for early 1997. Engineering is currently
researching easement acquisition and possible design options just to improve capacity
of the stilling basin/tip -up #52717 in the creek west of 24th Ave. and Cleveland and
the inlet structure #66952 in the creek near the south end of Orr Ln.
5. Location: Open drainage channel from Bonnieview St. to Honeywood Ave.
Nature of Problem: Steep sided open drainage carrying public runoff from piped
system at Bonnieview ( #58463) crosses private property. City has no legal authority
for access to this drainage way. Access for all previous maintenance has been granted
through verbal permission of the property owner. If such permission is withdrawn,
City will not be able to perform routine and/or emergency flood control maintenance.
Recommended Solution: Acquire easement along channel for access of mechanized
maintenance equipment.
Status: CIP list item since 1992. No easement acquisition to date.
6. Location: Ditch between Long Island Drive and Norkenzie Minda PUD
Nature of Problem: Street flooding on Larkspur Loop due to the piped stormwater
system backing up. This system outfalls ( #61400 and 67109) to this ditch, which is in
need of cleaning and vegetation removal. Two large concrete culverts pass under
Long Island Drive near this outfall. They were found to be half full of sediment and
debris and have been recently cleaned. It has been determined that the City has little
or no easement to several hundred feet of the ditch, which continues from the culverts
and runs through the back yards of several residential lots before reentering the public
system at structure #59859 in the Norkenzie Minda PUD.
Recommended Solution: An easement must be obtained for maintenance or construc-
tion purposes. The ditch requires extensive rehabilitation through vegetation and
97rehah.etc 3/97 bne 3
