enclose the ditch up to the point where it enters the piped system under the PUD.
Status `97: CIP list item since 1995. No easement acquisition to date.
Status `98: One property midway along ditch has been partitioned and granted a
drainage easement.
8 Location: Open drainage channel from Bonnieview St. to Honeywood Ave.
Nature of Problem: Steep sided open drainage carrying public runoff from piped
system at Bonnieview ( #58463) crosses private property. City has no legal author-
ity for access to this drainage way. Access for all previous maintenance has been
granted through verbal permission of the property owner. If such permission is
withdrawn, City will not be able to perform routine and /or emergency flood
control maintenance.
Recommended Solution: Acquire easement along channel for access of mechanized
maintenance equipment.
Status: CIP list item since 1992. No easement acquisition to date.
9. Location: Catch basins connected to abandoned system on west side of Jefferson at
W. 12th Ave.
Nature of Problem: Catchbasins ( #55767 and #55527) on the west side of Jefferson
at W. 12th Ave. are connected to an abandoned 18" clay line which runs north and
south on Jefferson. To the south of these catchbasins at mid -block the 18" clay line
connects to storm manhole #56083 (also referred to as sanitary manhole #12010)
and storm manhole #56082. These manholes are also abandoned, as is the line
running south out of manhole #56082 down to where it is plugged at the point
where it used to enter sanitary manhole #12007 at the corner of W. 13th Ave.
(when this was part of the combined system). This system currently does not
function, as it is plugged off at each end, and the abandoned manholes are a source
of confusion during field investigations.
Recommended Solution: Replace catch basin #55767, which has deteriorated.
Connect catch basins #55767 and 55527 to the functioning piped system on the east
side of Jefferson (10" dia. line). Eliminate abandoned manholes #56082 and
#56083. Fill the abandoned 18" clay line if necessary.
Status: New Project 5/97.
10. Location: Inlet in front of 2889 & 2915 Van Ave.
Nature of Problem: Inlet ( #68225) on the north side of Van is a non- standard
standpipe inlet with a small grate. The inlet is stubbed into an 8" (approx.) pipe
which, according to the grid map, runs north and south a short distance into the
5
