Develop news releases and flyers regarding the new "hotline" number <br /> and distribute as appropriate. (Coordinate with activities conducted under BMPs MON1 <br /> and MON2 to ensure a response to complaints). <br /> • Develop a direct mail piece with the new "hotline" number for neighborhood groups, <br /> Neighborhood Watch, and people who live along channels and streams. <br /> • Include fact sheets about the illegal dumping and illicit connections problem. <br /> Task 5: • Work with area schools to develop a "keep it clean" campaign. Coordinate with activities <br /> conducted under ED1, Task 5. <br /> ED7 - Education for Design Practices <br /> Task 2: • Make presentations to professional organizations, such as landscape architects, engineers, <br /> developers, and real estate agents. <br /> • Develop a presentation for landscape architect classes at the University of Oregon; provide <br /> handouts for students. <br /> • Develop one workshop a year, sponsored by landscape or design organizations, on <br /> techniques that reduce negative water quality impacts; include handouts and "how to" fact <br /> sheets. <br /> • Prepare and staff booths at the Homeshow and other events that reach homeowners (two <br /> shows a year). <br /> • Include articles in newsletters about the advantages of employing native vegetation. <br /> Task 3: • Develop a direct mail piece and distribute to names on association (e.g., engineering <br /> associations, etc.) mailing lists. <br /> • Develop a handout for real estate agents and nursery outlets about alternative techniques <br /> targeted at purchasers of vacant land, homeowners, and gardening enthusiasts. <br /> • Develop a handout for distribution during presentations and workshops and that is available <br /> at the PIC.
