The permittees shall maintain compliance with this permit and implement the Storm Water <br /> Management Plan (SWMP) currently approved by the Department, hereby incorporated into this <br /> permit by reference, in order to comply with the following conditions required by the Clean <br /> Water Act <br /> a. Reduce the discharge of pollutants from the municipal separate storm sewer system to <br /> the maximum extent practicable. <br /> • <br /> b. Effectively prohibit non -storm water discharges into the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer <br /> System (MS4) unless such discharges are otherwise permitted by an existing National <br /> Pollutant Discharge. Elimination System (NPDES) permit or special permit issued for <br /> short term activities pursuant to OAR 340 -14 -050. The following non -storm water <br /> discharges need not be prohibited from entering the MS4, provided appropriate control <br /> measures (if needed) to minimize the impacts of such sources, are developed under the <br /> SWMP: water line flushing; landscape irrigation; diverted stream flows; rising ground <br /> waters; uncontaminated groundwater infiltration; uncontaminated pumped ground water; <br /> discharges from potable water sources; foundation drains; air conditioning' condensate; <br /> irrigation w ater springs; water from crawl space pumps; footing drains; lawn watering; <br /> individual residential ' car washing; flows from riparian habitats and wetlands; • <br /> dechlorinated swimming pool discharges street wash waters and discharges or flows <br /> from emergency fire fighting activities. <br /> By implementing the SWMP, the permittees shall be deemed to be in compliance with (a) and <br /> (b) above. <br />
