WATER QUALITY MONITORING
From 1980 to 1990 each site was evaluated twice a month for physical and chemical analysis.
From 1991 to the present, testing has been reduced to once a month and biological monitoring
added. Adjusted cost, based on a once -a -month testing program, would be $7,875.00 per site.
WATER QUANTITY MONITORING
Water quantity monitoring for the BBC Watershed includes three stream -flow recorders and two
precipitation recorders. For the purpose of averaging cost, the two precipitation stations were
considered as one, since data processing takes only half as much time. Average cost has been
projected at $2,437.00 per station. Future cost should be lower due to conversion to automated
equipment in 1994.
The table on the following pages shows specific cost for each year for the stormwater utility.
Also shown, is unit cost for capital projects.
STREET DRAINAGE MAINTENANCE
Additional cost related to stormwater and water quality is maintenance of the street drainage
systems. The Road Maintenance and Operations Division has provided the following unit cost for
maintenance and repairs:
• Catch Basin Clearing $8.99 per basin
• Catch Basin Cleaning $8.81 per basin
• Drywell Cleaning $198.00 per drywell
• Drywell Repair $1000.00 per drywell
• Street Sweeping $24.85 per lane mile
• Ditching $2.07 per lineal foot
Clark County Storm & Surface Water Utility April 1996
Maintenance & Operations Cost Page 3
