• <br /> • <br /> FERTILIZATION <br /> 1. Fertilization shall follow National Arborists Association Standards. No <br /> fertilizer containing less than 20 Units shall be used unless otherwise approved <br /> by the City Forester. <br /> 2. Applications of nutrients by implantation, injection, spraying or other methods <br /> shall be by special permit issued at the discretion of the City Forester. <br /> SPRAYING <br /> 1. All spray operations shall be subject to recommendations of the City Forester <br /> who shall follow Oregon E.P.A. and the Department of Agriculture laws and <br /> regulations. The National Arborist Association Field Guide for spray crews <br /> shall be followed at all times. <br /> 2. Spray materials containing lime sulfur should not be used near painted buildings. <br /> 3. Dormant oil spray must not be applied when temperature is below 40 before <br /> the spray has dried. <br /> 4. Label directions shall be•strictly adhered to in the use of any and all <br /> pesticides at all times. <br /> 5. Applications of pesticides by bark or root implantation, injection or other <br /> non -spray methods shall be by special permit, <br /> CABLING, AND BRACING <br /> 1. Accepted National Arborist Association Arboricultural Standards shall be <br /> followed. <br /> • <br /> • <br /> CAVI'T'Y TREATMENT <br /> 1. All cavity treatment shall be subject to the City Forester's recommendations • <br /> and recognize the latest research pertaining thereto by U.S. Forest Service . <br /> (Dr. Alex Shigo). <br /> • <br /> PERMITS <br /> • <br /> 1. All work shall comply with Street Tree Regulations Chapter 20.40 by Ordinance <br /> No. 134330 passed April 5, effective May 8, 1972, by permit granted for that <br /> purpose. <br /> • <br /> 2. Applications for permits must be made at the office of the City Forester not <br /> less than 48 hours in advance of the time the work is to be done. Call 248 -4489. <br /> 3. Work must be done in a workman -like manner within 30 days from the date of the <br /> issuance unless otherwise stated. <br /> 4. Notice of completion is the return of the permit promptly thereafter, but <br /> not to exceed 10 days, to the City Forester for his inspection. <br /> -6- <br />
