• • FERTILIZATION 1. Fertilization shall follow National Arborists Association Standards. No fertilizer containing less than 20 Units shall be used unless otherwise approved by the City Forester. 2. Applications of nutrients by implantation, injection, spraying or other methods shall be by special permit issued at the discretion of the City Forester. SPRAYING 1. All spray operations shall be subject to recommendations of the City Forester who shall follow Oregon E.P.A. and the Department of Agriculture laws and regulations. The National Arborist Association Field Guide for spray crews shall be followed at all times. 2. Spray materials containing lime sulfur should not be used near painted buildings. 3. Dormant oil spray must not be applied when temperature is below 40 before the spray has dried. 4. Label directions shall be•strictly adhered to in the use of any and all pesticides at all times. 5. Applications of pesticides by bark or root implantation, injection or other non -spray methods shall be by special permit, CABLING, AND BRACING 1. Accepted National Arborist Association Arboricultural Standards shall be followed. • • CAVI'T'Y TREATMENT 1. All cavity treatment shall be subject to the City Forester's recommendations • and recognize the latest research pertaining thereto by U.S. Forest Service . (Dr. Alex Shigo). • PERMITS • 1. All work shall comply with Street Tree Regulations Chapter 20.40 by Ordinance No. 134330 passed April 5, effective May 8, 1972, by permit granted for that purpose. • 2. Applications for permits must be made at the office of the City Forester not less than 48 hours in advance of the time the work is to be done. Call 248 -4489. 3. Work must be done in a workman -like manner within 30 days from the date of the issuance unless otherwise stated. 4. Notice of completion is the return of the permit promptly thereafter, but not to exceed 10 days, to the City Forester for his inspection. -6-
