HAMMITT Bob
From: MEDLIN Johnny R
To: HAMMITT Bob
Cc: PLAMONDON Scott F
Subject: FW: Woodleaf Notice of Application to Remove Trees
Date: Tuesday, June 17, 1997 2:28PM
Hi Bob,
I understand this has been discussed at the CMO level and that we have been instructed to abide by the
timeline which Richie has outlined below. I just need to make sure it is understood that our past practice
has been never to issue the permit until after the appeal period has past. The logic for this is that it makes
the outcome of an appeal academic if the trees have already been removed by a quick acting applicant.
This is a fairly major deviation from that past practice.
The schedule below allows no time for anyone opposed to the removals to even know the permit has been
granted before the trees can start coming down. While the letter of the law looks like we can do this (or
so Scott tells me we have been informed by the City Attorneys office), we subject ourselves to the risk of
an augment that this is a done deal and that comments or appeals really don't matter.
We will move forward in line with the below schedule unless instructed to do otherwise.
Thanks
Johnny
From: PLAMONDON Scott F
To: MEDLIN Johnny R
Cc: BELLMORE Mike
Subject: FW: Woodleaf Notice of Application to Remove Trees
Date: Tuesday, June 17, 1997 1:45PM
Johnny, FYI Thanks Scott
From: WEINMAN Richie D
To: PLAMONDON Scott F; KLEIN Glenn
Cc: FARKAS Abe K; BOWERS Lew C; Hugh Prichard
Subject: Woodleaf Notice of Application to Remove Trees
Date: Tuesday, June 17, 1997 10:34AM
This is the timeline as I understand it:
June 16 Notices were mailed to all property owners and residents within 200' of Woodleaf
Village
July 1, 5:00 PM Comment Period Ends, Metro can be informed that a permit will be issued.
If there are no written comments, there can be no appeals.
July 2, 8:00 AM Tree Cutting Permit can be issued, work can commence on the site in accordance
with the approved plan.
July 16 5 PM Deadline for someone who commented to file an appeal.
