MEMORANDUM
DATE: DECEMBER 13. 1994
TO: RICHARD A. MORGAN
FROM: ADRIAN STANSFIELD
SUBJECT: TREE REMOVAL ON ROYAL
On the Southeast corner of Royal and Hughes, there is a plum tree located
inside a fenced yard that is, in fact, in the right -of -way. Earlier this year
we were requested to clear a sign that was obscured by foliage from the tree.
The the pedptheysign. the that goodvhealtonly
c l sign.
with the sidewalk project that is happening there, the property owner is
again saying "take it out" to Pat Bayes, the engineer in charge of the
project. Pat told me the property owner wants the city to take it out and for
it not to be a part of the project cost.
My understanding on the entire Royal sidewalk project is that the issue of
trees was covered and settled before it started. Now I seem to be getting
requests from property owners and questions from Pat Bayes regarding our
availability to do the removals. My response to date has been, No, we will
not remove the trees.
If we are seen removing one of the trees out there, for whatever reason, I am
sure we will be deluged with calls to take all the others out as well and I
cannot afford to have the crews out there for the time it would take to do it.
If these trees were addressed in the original agreement or contract, I feel we
should stick with the original plan, unless there is something I am not seeing
or don't know.
Let me know what you think.
rcu k" o r p ,,.- 1 Cdr /16 h tt 4.f .63 tN t 1 w t.
f ;4.-4.4 /-Lt' c %;"
"4, p ro P c: (,,.i (ct. vJ •M
w t"..: Icr — f r._.t /44^n ( .1 paw 1 cuv
64;
1 6 2.;A-1)
:V 0 ,44444 1)
; "el (h € p l1r )
SI Log) 0, c
