needs to be able to contact one person within Maintenance. Maintenance then
needs to ensure all of the proper players review plans in a timely manner.
Fred McVey is our contact with Engineering. Get adopted standards (that means
having them adopted by Engineering and Planning, etc.).
13. TREE /STREET LIGHTS - LIGHTS TO ILLUMINATE ROW
Discussion: Need to define if street tree or private tree. If tree is
blocking light then need to prune the tree. Ben checked with Traffic and the
street light is to illuminate ROW not private property. Need input before new
street lights are installed. This would be covered in the standards.
14. TREE /SIGNS AND SIGNALS - PRIVATE BLOCKING STOP SIGNS
Discussion: This would be covered in the standards. Engineering or Traffic
would have the standards so they would know where to place new signs and
signals. Current policy is to go in and trim the blocking limbs. There are
some locations that we do this trimming of private trees year after year. If
street sign is being blocked by private trees, do we go in and trim and charge
them or do we give them a notice and give them a chance to cut the limbs them-
selves. Send them one courtesy letter then bill them in future years. This
would not work necessarily on priority signs.
15. TREES OVERHANGING OR OBSCURING STRUCTURES AND PRIVATE SIGNS
Existing
New construction
Discussion: What about limbs blocking business signs. If rules and regula-
tions has been established in the standards then PIC would have the correct
information as to height requirements. Do we charge for the removal or
replacement of trees?
