COMPARISON OF COST VERSES VALUE
To determine the most reasonable course of action when construction design conflicts with an
existing tree, the value of the tree will be compared to the cost of tree saving alternative
methods of construction. When the least cost tree saving alternative is more than 20 percent
of the value of the tree, the tree may then be removed at the expense of the requesting party.
In addition, the requesting party must pay to the City the value of the tree.
DOCUMENTATION
1. Record of the tree's valuation and costing of alternatives shall be kept at Public Works -
Maintenance and be available for public inspection.
2. The record shall be available for public inspection at the time of the tree's posting for a
period of five years.
3.
