ACTION REQUESTED <br /> 1. Council to hold a public hearing regarding Eugene Code Section 6.300 to <br /> 6.300 (Tree Preservation) as modified by Ordinance No. 19927, enacted July <br /> 12, 1993. <br /> 2. Council approval of the attached revision to Eugene Code Sections 6.305 <br /> establishing permit requirements for the removal of street trees by private <br /> parties and to 7.650 requiring the City Manager to establish pruning <br /> standards for street trees. <br /> II. COUNCIL ACTION HISTORY <br /> The City Council adopted revisions to the Tree Preservation Ordinance in July of <br /> 1993. Council stated a public hearing would be held at a later date to review <br /> the public impact of the revisions. <br /> III. BRIEFING STATEMENT <br /> 1. On adopting the revisions to the Tree Preservation Ordinance in July of <br /> 1993 the City Council stated a public hearing would be held at a later date <br /> to receive comments on the ordinance's impact. In the approximately <br /> eighteen months which has elapsed, eleven permit applications have been <br /> processed. All permit applications were given either limited or full <br /> approval. Three enforcement actions were undertaken due to alleged illegal <br /> tree removal. Two enforcements resulted in fines levied (how much) ? ?? and <br /> the third was ruled a permitted removal ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?? <br /> 2.
