UPDATE.NWB Page 1 <br /> NEIGHBORWOODS - 94 <br /> PROGRESS REPORT 11 \15 \93 <br /> Workshops held - 2 (1- October, 1- November) <br /> Total Participation - 12 neighborhood leaders <br /> Number of neighborhoods - complete to ordering trees - 7 <br /> Total of trees ordered by the neighborhoods to date - 124 <br /> Two workshops Mere held to train volunteer leaders on how to recruit <br /> neighbors to plant trees, how to chose the right tree for the right place, <br /> and how to take care of their new trees. The first workshop lasted four <br /> hours on a Saturday morning. The second workshop was held on an evening <br /> presented a condensed two hour program and substituted slides and overheads <br /> for the outdoor demonstration. All written and oral comments received from <br /> both workshops indicated the program was well received. <br /> To date seven neighborhoods completed all their ground work and submitted <br /> their tree order. Bids for their trees should go out before the end of <br /> this month. Depending on the weather at the tree nurseries we should get <br /> the trees in the City's holding bins by mid - December. Large scale will <br /> take place after the trees arrive. <br /> Still other citizens have voiced an interest in being NeighborWoods <br /> leaders, yet have not attended either workshop. I will send them training <br /> materials and provide individual follow -ups to bring them up to speed. <br />
